DR ANDREW WHITEHOUSE

Dr Andrew Whitehouse is a project leader at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research in the area of Autism. He has recently completed some ground breaking research in the area of antenatal factors relating to Autism. Predictors of stress in parents of children with autism spectrum disorders download information sheet 1 and sheet 2

The study is being conducted by a team of researchers led by Andrew Whitehouse (Telethon Institute for Child Health Research), John Wray (State Child Development Centre) and David Ravine (University of Western Australia). They are looking for participants who have been recently diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and will ask them to come into the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research to participate in a ‘child friendly’ assessment. iPad apps for autistic children helps them communicate

Our four-year-old son is autistic. He's in the middle of the spectrum, so is learning to speak, but it's hard for him to communicate in a way that we can understand him. That said, he's very smart in other areas we're starting to use a new app, released today, that lets us work with communicating with him and teaching him more language.

Superfins WA Inc, Swimming for People with Disabilities, is a registered Charity, and has Deductible Gift Status. It has been operating since 1985 when it began through a link between the Cerebral Palsy Association and Aussi Masters (now Masters Swimming WA).
